In case you couldn’t tell, the huge blur in the right side of the image above is a dog running around with a snow shovel. His name is Lexington and he actually is Dislikes snow, which is why he’s so passionate about shoveling. He wants it from GOEE

Don’t you want to have a dog that might shovel snow on you? Well you can! Lexington is up for adoption! This goofy boy has been at Absolute Pet Rescue and Adoption in Mission, Kansas since April 2014. He is desperate for a furever home.

This sweet-eyed boy loves anything red and will carry his toys with him. Despite his promising personality, Lex has some trust issues. His new human needs to be consistent and confident, so that Lex can learn the ways of the world. If you haven’t already guessed, this pup probably needs a human who isn’t a first-time dog owner–which is great because the Lexington does so well with both boy and girl dogs! But he doesn’t do it with cats or young children.

All of these reasons are part of the reasons Lex has been without a home for so long. Sometimes, when people hear what a dog needs in order to have a happy home, they immediately think that means the dog is bad. Ridiculous, right? Dogs are like people. Some have a lot of energy, some are more chill. Some people like the little ones, some don’t. This does not mean that something is wrong with them.
Can you imagine not finding love because you are not perfect? This is what happens to Lexington and thousands of dogs like him.

You mentioned he was goofy, right? It’s also full of surprises. A volunteer at the shelters ran a DNA test on him, and you won’t believe what the result was: This big tabby is a Bass-Hound-Bullmastiff mix. WHAAA????? I agree?

Although he has a lot of love in Unseashed Pet Rescue and Adoption, spending nearly 640 days without a family is a very long time, especially for a dog. In fact, Lexington has been without a home even longer than that. His original family left him in a kill shelter in Missouri. We know there’s a man out there waiting for you just like in Lexington.
Lexington deserves to start 2016 with a loving family. If you are interested in adding this extravagant man to your family, and you are in the Mission, Kansas area, contact Unleashed Pet Rescue and Adoption.
