Lucy and Junior are a bonded couple in the New York area who lost their home a few months ago due to unfortunate circumstances. They have been in a foster home in New Jersey for the past 4 1/2 months, but the foster family can no longer keep them and they need to find a new place ASAP. They should be moved on Saturday 23rd July!

The husband used to live with his owner, Greg, and some of his family in a house on Long Island. Lucy and Junior originally belonged to Greg’s brother, but he didn’t seem to treat them the best, and Greg stepped in to take care of them. They were all paying Greg’s fare at the place – the rent was out of pocket and not used to pay the mortgage. By the time he found out this was the case, it was already too late and the house had been foreclosed on. Greg had no other choice but to find rescue for his children and check himself into a homeless shelter.

To make matters worse, Greg has been laid off and has been going to culinary school. He is now in a homeless shelter, still going to culinary school, doing apprenticeships, and looking for work and housing while trying to make sure his dogs don't end up in a shelter themselves. He is a very responsible man who deals with difficult circumstances. He had the good fortune of a longtime friend who knew Ellis Gyourko, who co-founded the organization "Back home to the rescue" in 2013 and worked with him to ensure the pups were safe.

On Road To Home Junior and Lucy are assigned a temporary sitter while Greg works to get back on his feet. The family has stipulated that they can only do so for three months due to travel plans. When time ran out and Greg didn’t have a home, they canceled their plans and kept the dogs for an extra month and a half! This was the longest they could extend. Now though, Lucy and Jane only have a few days to find a new place before they have to go to a boarding facility.

Due to an unspecified future for Greg, the Pibble duo are being considered for adoption at this time. Greg doesn't want to separate his dogs for good, but his main concern is their well-being and if that means going to a new forever home, he'll accept it. Road to Home Rescue will sit if necessary the whole time they are looking for a sitter or adopter, but this gets very expensive and needs donations to ensure they can keep Lucy and Junior out of the shelter.
