Hot glue gun

A small piece of paper

Black hair
-
Yellow or orange hair

Step 1: Draw the collar
A black baby T-shirt is the basis of the outfit. For my dog, who is 14 lbs, I used a size 12 month shirt. You can adjust the size of the shirt to fit your dog.
To make a wide pilgrim’s collar, fold a 9-inch by 12-inch piece of white felt in half. Then draw a semicircle on top about the size of the shirt opening, along with two collar points starting at the top left and right corners. The girth should look like a big “W”.

Step 2: Cut the collar
Using scissors, cut along the lines you drew on the felt. Because the hair has been folded in half, you will get a symmetrical cut when it is unfolded. You will then have a left collar and a right collar.

Step 3: Glue the collar
Glue the two pieces of the collar around the neck opening of the shirt with a hot glue gun. Do not glue the pieces of the collar to each other. Keeping the two pieces apart allows the opening of the shirt to stay put, which makes it easier to get the dog’s head through.

Step 4: Cut the cuffs
I cut two pieces of white felt approximately 3 inches by 9 inches each.

Step 5: Glue the cuffs
Fold the white cuff pieces around the shirt sleeves, overlapping about an inch, and pin in place. Hajj shirt is now made!

Step 6: Make the Hat
A small paper cup makes an ideal under construction for a pilgrim’s hat. Turn the cup upside down, and hot-glue a circle of blackening paper to the top of the hat, allowing the hair to extend out over the sides.

Then hot glue black felt around the sides of the cup.

Step 7: Make the hat band
Cut and hot felt with a 1-inch white ribbon to match the widest part of the hat. Cut a 1-inch square of yellow or gold foil with a one-inch square opening, and hot-glue it to white ribbon to create a buckle.

Step 8: Make the Edge
Cut a circular piece of black felt an inch larger than the circumference of the hat’s opening. Then cut a hole in the center a little smaller than the hole of the hat.

Hot glue the bottom of the hat to the brim, and we have a pilgrim hat!

To help keep the hat on your dog’s head, tie a piece of elastic cord to the hair on opposite sides of the hat to create a chin strap.

Step 9: Finish With the Belt
A belt with a buckle complements the uniform and increases the attraction factor, but also helps to tie the shirt so it is more snug to your dog’s body. Measure your dog’s waist, and cut a 3-inch strip of white felt to this measurement, adding an inch or two for more flexibility. Solve some hook and loop fastener on both ends of the white strap to allow for easy in and out of the strap.
Tip: If you don’t want to break your sewing machine, cut a longer piece of webbing so you can thread the ends together.

To make the buckle, cut out a 4-inch square of yellow or gold with a 3-inch square opening, and hot-glue it to the center of the belt.
