These 13 pet-friendly companies are also proud supporters of LGBTQ Rights 2023

هذه الشركات الصديقة للحيوانات الأليفة 13 فخور أيضا أنصار حقوق LGBTQ

In honor of LGBTQ Pride Month, we’re rounding up a group of companies that support lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender equality, and offer a little something extra for the dogs in their lives. Now that’s something to smile about!

*** Please be aware that for those stores that allow new parents to bring their dogs inside, the decision is ultimately left to each manager, so call ahead and ask about their dog friendly policy before bringing them shopping! *

Without further ado, here are the contenders:

1. Apple

The real question here is what does Apple not allow in its stores? You can shop for your next phone, laptop, or tablet, and let your child decide what color you should buy. (For little pups, make sure you pick them up when foot traffic gets heavy!) Plus, Apple is a staunch supporter of marriage equality and civil rights!

2. Starbucks

According to Starbucks, “Equality is a core company value,” and it has provided benefits to local partners for more than 20 years. They put their humans first, and their pups too! In case you haven’t explored the secret menu, be sure to get your pooch to try the Puppuccino—their whipped cream mustaches would make great Instagram shots. Please note, however, that some dogs get tummy ache from dairy products, so proceed with caution!

3. Google

The Google Merchandise Store offers a selection of dog and pet products, including toys, treats, place mats, and collars to match your dog’s style. And of course, Google is 100% supportive of universal equal rights.

4. IKEA

Supporting the gay community, these guys were among the first to advertise directly to gay couples, and openly welcome families of all kinds! In addition, some stores may have puppy “parking spots” outside where shopping customers can drop their fluff off and then pull them out when they’re done.

5. Barnes & Noble

Puppies are invited to browse through their favorite novels, whether they’re dog biscuit instructional books or “The Art of Fetch,” and B&N is 100 percent LGBTQ-friendly.

7. Macy’s

Not only does Macy’s allow dogs in her stores, she supports animal shelters and rescues by allowing them space to advertise and fundraise. Their announcement of same-sex marriage and their participation in Gay Pride Month doesn’t speak to them, and we absolutely love them!

8. Old Navy

These guys and girls let your friends ride (or ride) while you shop, and also fully support marital equality and equal rights.

9. American Apparel

Check out American Apparel’s “Legalize Gay” page on their website! They shout their support to the rooftops, and we think the dogs will howl too. They even sell puppy clothes!

10. Ford

In addition to being fully LGBTQ-friendly, Ford designs its cars with dogs in mind—you might find features like floor compartments for dog food and supplies, low bumper height, and ample spaces capable of accommodating large dog crates.

11. Ben & Jerry’s

The Ice Cream Guys believe that “social justice can and should be something that every human being is entitled to,” and we’re going to throw our tails at that. And if you’re looking for a career change, their Vermont headquarters are pretty cool!

12. The Home Depot

We think these guys are pretty awesome – they openly support the family, and they’ve sponsored and participated in gay pride parades and other events. Plus, wait…you get to shop with your dog.

13. Subaru

You may have met the Barkleys, the useful dog family featured in many Subaru ads. They approve of these cars’ dog-friendly design (as do our dogs!), and Subaru is a pro-LGBTQ company with a lot of support.
